We are tempted to see Pharisee and Sinner as two entirely different kinds of people. This is not surprising - after all, they are so very different. Or are they? Your host is not high perched above these two characters: rather, he readily admits that he has learned these insights out of failure; out of playing both these roles; sometimes in different seasons of life and other times simultaneously. As the saying goes, it takes one to know one. Contact Us to schedule Bill Henson at your church or ministry.

Join Bill as he seeks to go to the heart of the Culture War: specifically, to the heart of the ways in which the Culture War distracts us from doing the Kingdom work Jesus calls us to do. Culture War distracts us by luring us into all kinds of “us” versus “them” games. Christ will have none of this: He confronts us at every point where we become distracted. Ultimately, these distractions that begin to limit our identity fall short of who we are called to be in Christ. We must sacrifice and permanently surrender our petty Culture Wars and tap back into Kingdom initiatives. Contact Us to schedule Bill Henson at your church or ministry.

Bill shares an extended meditation that came from his search through the Scriptures following a trip to Chicago in which he stayed overnight at the hospital bedside of his best friend and FOTOS board member Rick Goetsch. Rick, a young man and father of three daughters under 3 years of age, lies sedated in intensive care at a Chicago hospital battling a life-threatening case of pneumonia.
With Rick’s life inexplicably in grave danger, Bill started to ask too many WHY questions. Yes, the same thing he has repeatedly cautioned parents of homosexual children not to do. In yet another area of life, Bill learned that the WHY questions immobilize us and lead us down dead end trails.
There is another way. Bill witnessed the tremendous faith of Rick’s wife Laura: it is out of her faith that he felt motivated to find answers in Scripture. This meditation is a tribute to Rick and Laura Goetsch. Yet this tribute is ultimately a glory to our Great God: the One who is the Breath of Life.
On behalf of the Goetsch family, THANK YOU for all of your prayers for them. Will you pray that the resurrection power of Easter will touch the Goetsch family: that God will reach in and touch and heal Rick fully and quickly. Let us know about your prayer concerns too. Happy Easter…
